Working with the assistant

Asking good questions and reading citations

Ask the assistant in the dashboard or your chat tools. Answers cite the documents they come from, and it tells you when it cannot find something.

Ask in Chat, or in Slack, Discord, Bitrix24, WhatsApp and the other chat tools you connected. The assistant has the same company knowledge everywhere.

Tips for good answers

  • Say what you need and for whom: “Summarise last week's decisions on the onboarding email for the sales team.”
  • Name the source when you know it: type @ to pick a Memory document, or + to attach a file or pick one from the Library (up to 50 MB).
  • Ask for the action you want: “Open a Linear issue for the follow-up.” Changes wait for your approval.
  • Check important outputs. The assistant can make mistakes.

Citations

When an answer uses company knowledge, it shows small [1], [2] markers and a Sources list with the documents it used: Memory documents, Library files, Google Drive files, emails and items from connected tools such as Linear, ClickUp, Jira and Notion. Sources only ever point to things you are allowed to open. In Slack, Discord, Bitrix24 and WhatsApp, up to five sources are listed under the answer, labelled in your language.

If the knowledge does not cover your question, the assistant says so instead of guessing, and suggests where it might be documented or who might know.

Using the assistant in chat tools

Link your chat account first: open your profile under Members, find Chat accounts and choose Connect. You get a one-time code that is valid for 10 minutes. Send connect followed by the code to the bot in Slack, Bitrix24 or WhatsApp, or use the /connect command in Discord. Slack links automatically when your Slack email matches your LauncherUp email.
